Résumé/Summary:

Le temps des découvertes sensationnelles dans le domaine du monde animal est-il révolu ? Cette émission présente Marc van Roosmalen. Ce biologiste néerlandais a trouvé une terre « vierge » inconnue dans la forêt amazonienne où il découvre sans cesse de nouvelles espèces animales. Il a trouvé plus de 20 nouvelles espèces de singes (10% environ de celles déjà connues). Aucun autre avant lui n’avait autant enrichi notre connaissance du monde animal.

L’émission le suit lors de sa dernière expédition sur le Rio Aripuana. L’équipe a pu ainsi filmer une nouvelle espèce de pécari – une vraie découverte zoologique – et témoigner de cette première découverte d’un immense territoire, inconnu de l’homme et exploré depuis dix ans par ce chercheur.

You think the time for sensational discoveries in the animal kingdom is over? Well, you don’t know Marc van Roosmalen! The Dutch biologist has found a terra incognita in the Amazonian rainforest where he discovers new species all the time and we are not talking small insects. He has found more than 20 new monkey species–about 10% of all known primates. More than anybody else. We follow him on a new expedition to the Rio Aripuana. At the end, we will witness a real zoological sensation – the team films a new species of peccary. The first discovery of a big land living animal during the last ten years.

 

Expeditionen ins Tierreich

Quel est le credo de « Expédition dans le monde des animaux » ? : « Qu’il est fascinant d’observer le quotidien du lion et de l’éléphant au coeur de la savane, les bonds impressionnants du kangourou, les rendez-vous nocturnes du renard et de la hulotte, la découverte d’un monde inconnu par un aventurier perdu au fin fond d’une contrée exotique…»

Pédagogique et divertissant, ce magazine – diffusé le mercredi à 20h15 - explore ces oasis de verdure et sensibilise les spectateurs à leur disparition.

Le magazine propose un accompagnement spécialement étudié pour les jeunes publics : une revue et des jeux vidéo.

“Journey into the Animal World” is based on the premise that “it’s always fascinating to watch the everyday behaviour of lions and elephants in the heart of the savannah, the amazing leaps of the kangaroo, the night-time activities of foxes and tawny owls, or the discovery of an unknown world by a lost explorer in a forgotten corner of a far-flung land…” Both educational and entertaining, this magazine programme, broadcast every Wednesday at 8.15 pm, explores the world’s remaining natural habitats and raises awareness of the threats they are facing. Accompanying magazines and video games are aimed specifically at younger viewers.

 

Lothar Frenz

Après des études de Biologie et de journalisme à l’Université Johannes Gutenberg de Mainz, lauréat du Prix de la Fondation Robert Bosch décerné à un journaliste scientifique, Lothar Frenz devient rédacteur au magazine allemand Geo et producteur à la chaîne ZDF. Depuis 1991, il travaille en qualité de journaliste indépendant. Il a écrit de nombreux scénarios et est l’auteur notamment de « Sur la piste des animaux mystérieux », « Des monstres nous entourent »…

After studying biology and journalism at Johannes Gutenberg University in Mainz, Lothar Frenz worked as an editor for the German magazine Geo and a producer for the ZDF channel. He was awarded the Robert Bosch Foundation Prize for Science Journalists. Since 1991, he has worked as a freelance journalist. He is a prolific scriptwriter and is the author of “On the Trail of Mystery Animals” and “We’re Surrounded by Monsters”.
